Most consumer motion rigs put linear actuators under the chassis corners. Lifting corners approximates roll and pitch and nothing else. The PDK is a Stewart platform: six direct-drive legs moving the whole cockpit through all six degrees of freedom at once.

What each axis gives you
A four-actuator rig can give you two of these convincingly. The other four are the ones that tell you what the car is actually doing.

Your sims, your gear
The platform takes a pose over UDP. Getting a pose out of a racing title is what FlyPT Mover does, and it does it for anything that exports telemetry.
Through FlyPT Mover: iRacing, Assetto Corsa and Competizione, rFactor and rFactor 2, Automobilista 1 and 2, Project CARS 1 and 2, the DiRT Rally and Codemasters F1 series, RaceRoom, BeamNG.drive, KartKraft, Kart Racing Pro, Live for Speed and GTA V. The long stint
A servo platform holds the full static load of rig and driver on its motors for the whole session. Heat builds, and on many rigs fidelity fades with it. On the PDK the standing load is carried by pneumatic cylinders under patent CA 3217174 C, so the motors work only when the car is moving you — which matters for endurance events, esports training blocks, and the duty cycle of a venue running back-to-back sessions all day.
