The architecture
Air holds the weight. Motors do the moving.
A Stewart platform puts six actuators between a fixed base and a moving top, so every leg contributes to every motion. Ours are driven directly — no belt to stretch, no gearbox to take up before the platform answers.
Three pneumatic cylinders carry the static load, which is the part covered by patent CA 3217174 C. With gravity handled, the motors only work on the difference between where the platform is and where the trajectory wants it.
Powerful
3 g acceleration
A 1.41-farad recuperative capacitor bank lets the platform draw 30 kW in a burst — so a hit arrives at full strength instead of being rationed by the supply.
Robust
250 kg payload
Three pneumatic pistons with dual dead-volume ballast tanks work in tandem with the motors: the air balances the mass, the motors move it. On a custom cast-aluminium base and table, it carries 250 kg of payload on 115 kg of platform.

More than 2 million positions per revolution
2,097,152 positions per revolution, on every one of the six motors.

Envelope
Six numbers you can feel.
Surge, sway and heave move the platform along three axes. Pitch, roll and yaw turn it about them. The firmware refuses a pose outside its limits rather than quietly clamping it.
