Play 80+ games through FlyPT Mover and SimHub. They run from iRacing and Assetto Corsa Competizione to Microsoft Flight Simulator and DCS World. The PDK works with Xbox and PlayStation too.
The architecture
A Stewart platform has six legs between a fixed base and a moving top. Every leg helps with every move. Ours are driven directly. No belt stretches, and no gearbox has to take up slack before the platform answers.
Three air cylinders carry the weight. This is the part covered by patent CA 3217174 C. With gravity handled, the motors only move the platform to where the game wants it.
Fast
Bigger rigs are slow, and they drag you back to center. Measured: under 1 ms game telemetry to motion (both measurement points on /technology/latency/). What a rider feels is not something ARK can guarantee.
Powerful
A 1.41-farad recuperative capacitor bank lets the platform draw 30 kW in a burst. So a hit arrives at full strength. The power supply never has to ration it.
Robust
Three air pistons, each with two ballast tanks, work with the motors. The air balances the weight and the motors move it. It stands on a custom cast-aluminum base and table. It carries 250 kg of payload on 115 kg of platform.
Precise
Each of the six motors reads 2,097,152 positions in every turn.
On camera
Four people, filmed as they climbed out. Each consented; none was paid or given anything. Every quote is cut from a captioned film on See it move. Recorded on expo demonstration units of the development kit.
