How it works

Step	What happens
At confirmation	You pay the development-kit price only. Nothing for shipping yet.
When your Kit is ready	We email you a shipping quote for the delivery address on your request: freight, transit insurance, crating and carrier handling. The quote states the estimated transit time.
Accepting the quote	You have 14 days to accept and pay it. We dispatch after payment and send you the tracking details. Before dispatch we may ask you to accept the version of the Agreement then in force (Agreement 15.4).
If you do not accept it	You may cancel under Section 4.2 of the Agreement, or collect the Kit, or send your own carrier, from our manufacturing partner or from the warehouse we ship it from. If we have had no response 30 days after the quote, we may cancel the order; the refund is worked out as Agreement 4.2 says.

These are estimates so that you can see the likely cost before you order a development kit. They are not a price: the shipping quote is. Section 4.2 of the Agreement says when a quote far above the estimate lets you cancel for a full refund.

Where we ship

Three shipping regions. United States. EU — all 27 member states. Rest of world — every other country and territory we supply, including the UK, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein, the French overseas departments, Saint-Martin and the Åland Islands. Development kits for the United States and the rest of the world are supplied by ARK Dynamics Global; for the EU by ARKINEMATICS LIMITED. We do not deliver to Quebec or British Columbia in Canada, or to Crimea, Sevastopol or the other places our checkout refuses. Development-kit requests are open for the United States and the rest of the world. Development kits for the EU are requested by email to devsupport@ark-dynamics.com; each request is reviewed. In the places listed in Section 1.3A of the Agreement we supply businesses only. If you do not see your country, email devsupport@ark-dynamics.com.

Duties, taxes and who imports

"DAP" on this page means only that you import the Kit and pay every import charge. Risk and title pass as Section 4.4 of the Agreement says, whatever an Incoterm would otherwise say: for a professional recipient, when we hand the Kit to the carrier.

Delivery to	Who pays duties and import taxes
USA	You import the Kit, make its customs entry and pay import duty, tariffs, taxes and customs clearance fees to the carrier or to customs on delivery (DAP). They are not included in the development-kit price. Sales tax, where we must collect it, is shown before you pay.
The EU — every member state, including the places outside the EU VAT area (the Canary Islands, Ceuta, Melilla, Mount Athos, Heligoland, Büsingen, Livigno, Campione d'Italia and northern Cyprus)	You import the Kit and pay import VAT, customs duty, tariffs, any local import taxes (IGIC in the Canary Islands, IPSI in Ceuta and Melilla) and customs clearance fees to the carrier or to customs on delivery (DAP). They are not included in the euro development-kit price. EU development kits are requested by email to devsupport@ark-dynamics.com; each request is reviewed.
The UK, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein	You import the Kit and pay import VAT (Norway 25 %, Iceland 24 %, Switzerland and Liechtenstein 8.1 %, UK 20 %) on the goods and shipping, plus any customs duty and the carrier's fee, on delivery (DAP). They are not in the development-kit price. Stated, with your country's rate, before you confirm your request. We publish the rates because they are set by law; the duty depends on how customs classifies the Kit, and the clearance fee is the carrier's, not ours.
Everywhere else outside the USA — including Canada, Australia, the French overseas departments and the Åland Islands (for Northern Ireland, the French overseas departments, Saint-Martin and the Åland Islands, development kits are requested by email to devsupport@ark-dynamics.com and each request is reviewed)	You import the Kit and pay import duty, VAT/GST and customs clearance fees to the carrier or to customs on delivery (DAP). They are not included in the development-kit price, and we cannot calculate them in advance — they depend on your country's rates and on your own customs authority. We say so before you pay.

Shipping, import duty, tariffs, VAT/GST, taxes and fees are yours to pay in every region; ARK pays none of them. As the importer you handle the import formalities and any licence or permit your country requires, and you give customs and the carrier accurate information about yourself; we give you the commercial invoice for the shipment. If customs or the carrier charge storage, demurrage or return costs because an import charge was not paid or an import document was missing on your side, those costs are yours.

Delivery

Item	Rule
How it arrives	Crated, on a pallet, delivered curbside by a freight carrier. The driver does not carry it inside or unpack it. Approximate crated weight and dimensions are on the specification sheet — plan the route to the installation site before delivery day.
Being there	The carrier books a delivery slot with you. You, or an adult you nominate, must be present to sign. Two missed bookings may lead to storage or return charges from the carrier; you pay them.
Inspect on delivery	Check the crate for damage before signing and note any damage you can see on the carrier's document. Professional recipients report visible damage to devsupport@ark-dynamics.com, with photos, within 5 days of delivery, and other damage or missing parts within a reasonable time after they find it and no later than 30 days after delivery (Agreement 4.5). Transit damage after risk has passed to you (Agreement 4.4) is covered only by the transit insurance in your quote: we claim under it and pass on what it pays. Where the law treats you as a Consumer, damage before the Kit reaches you is dealt with as that law requires. Late reporting makes transit damage harder to show.
Changing your address	Email us before dispatch. If the new address is in a region supplied by our other company, or changes the duty or tax basis, we may re-quote; if you then cancel, it is a cancellation under Section 5.1 of the Agreement.
Holding your Kit	If you cannot take delivery when your Kit is ready, we may hold it for up to 60 days after the quote; any storage charge after the 14 days you have to accept the quote is yours. After that, unless we agree storage terms with you in writing, we may cancel the order as Section 4.2 of the Agreement sets out.

Support and cancellation

Support, cancellation and import terms are in the Development Kit Evaluation Agreement. A defect is handled under the support commitment (Agreement Section 11): for a covered defect we send replacement parts at our cost and you pay to send the faulty part to us. We diagnose remotely and replace at part level where possible, and if a whole Kit must come back, we arrange the collection, and you pay for it as for a faulty part, unless the law treats you as a Consumer and gives you a free remedy, or Annex C of the Agreement says otherwise for Australia (Section 11.3 of the Agreement).

Canada

A development kit supplied to a business in Canada comes from ARK Dynamics Global, 762 E Browning Ave, Salt Lake City, Utah 84105, USA. Phone +1 (517) 420-0185. Email devsupport@ark-dynamics.com. We supply businesses only in Canada (Agreement 1.3A). Delivery is DAP: you import the Kit and pay import GST/HST, any customs duty and brokerage to the carrier or customs on delivery.
