The Stewart-Gough hexapod is the canonical architecture beneath full flight simulators, because parallel kinematics is what reproduces coupled multi-axis attitude change. The PDK is that architecture, supplied as a research and engineering instrument rather than a qualified device.

First, plainly

Not a certified
simulator. By design.

The PDK is not a certified Flight Training Device or Full Flight Simulator under FAA 14 CFR Part 60, EASA CS-FSTD(A) or an equivalent authority, and nothing on this site claims otherwise. Certification is type-specific, device-specific and awarded to an operator's programme — it is not a property a motion base can carry. A programme that needs a qualified Level B, C or D device needs one. This is for the work around and beneath that.

Research, engineering, and the work before qualification.

Training research

Ab-initio curriculum development, and research into spatial disorientation and upset prevention and recovery cueing, where the question is the cue rather than the credential.

Flight dynamics and HIL

Run candidate aerodynamic models through the same motion delivery as a reference, or place the platform in a hardware-in-the-loop chain for system-level testing.

Uncrewed systems

Vehicle-feel cueing for drone and UAV operators without the cost or footprint of a type-rated device, integrating with the ground-control software already in use.

Your cueing, your stack

No vendor layer in the cueing path.

Aerospace and defence programmes write their own motion cueing, often under restriction. The platform takes a six-axis pose over an open UDP interface and executes it.

The algorithm stays with you

Your cueing runs in your simulation stack. Nothing has to be handed over, ported into a vendor SDK, or disclosed to us for the platform to work.

Commands, not a black box

Position commands arrive at 1 kHz internally, and every parameter is exposed. There is no undocumented layer between your command and the legs.

Procurement

The architecture is protected by Canadian patent CA 3217174 C, with ARK Dynamics as exclusive commercial licensee. For multi-station or bespoke integration, come to us with the specification.
