The ARK wheelbase · PDK + ARK Ecosystem

Feel the grip.
40 Nm, held.

The front tyres load up, let go and bite again, and you feel all of it through the rim. Our own direct-drive wheelbase is rated at 40 Nm continuous by its manufacturer; its peak is higher. It comes with the PDK + ARK Ecosystem, $8,499.99, with the motion platform, racing chassis, extension feet and table, wheel, button box and pedals with a load-cell brake.

Side by side

Each row, with its source.

What reaches your hands is the car's weight moving over the front tyres. How much of it a base can hold, and what it takes to set one up, comes down to a few lines. Here are ours beside a comparable 35 Nm base, each cell with its source.

Newton-metres, one scale for all four lines. Continuous torque is what a motor holds without a break; peak is the most it reaches for a moment. We state our continuous figure; the comparable base's maker states its peak and no continuous figure. Our peak is drawn open-ended: it is higher than 40 Nm, and we give no figure for it.
